Meteorology is the forecast of weather and climate.

Here are some causes certain elements of weather:

Wind

Wind is caused by air flowing from high pressure to low pressure.

Rain

Rain is caused when the water vapor in the clouds becomes too heavy, it falls to the ground as rain.

Lightning

Lightning is an atmospheric disharge of electricity.

Hail

Hail is caused when small pellets of ice become to heavy to stay inside cumulominbus clouds then fall to earth.

High and Low Pressure Systems

High pressure systems bring hot weather and will stay that way for some time. Air drops in a high pressure system. Low pressure systems bring bad weather. Air rise near low pressure systems.

Cold and Warm Fronts

A cold front forms when cold air moves underneath warm air, forcing the warm air to rise.
